On Tuesday, September 7th, Pensacola State College president, Dr.  Ed Meadows, finalized a $7,500 deal with Marriot/Hampton Director of Sales, Patti Mohan. This relationship saves Pensacola State College  money on lodging and recruiting while the Marriot/Hampton  parent company, LBA Hospitality, gets free advertising. The deal will make available to Pirate recruits up to 75 rooms for the year. The agreement  has a value of up to $7,500 given that the rooms average $100 a night. In turn, LBA Hospitality will receive advertisement in the form of signs at Pirate baseball games and naming rights to the Pensacola State Baseball Tournament. The three properties involved in the sponsorship are the Hampton Inn – University, Pensacola Courtyard by Marriott and The Fairfield Inn.

“I hope that our students, faculty and staff will consider these 3 properties when accommodations are needed for their guests. When you run out of room, get one here!” said head coach Bill Hamilton.

The sponsorship gives Pensacola State  complementary rooms for recruiting and for the Baseball Tournament which will be known as the “LBA Properties Invitational.” The rooms for the tournament will be given to the teams, each team receiving up to 5 per night.
