PJC’s baseball team took on Florida’s #1 Junior College baseball team in Gulf Coast on Sunday April 2, losing 14-12.

Nick Francis went 5-5 with 3 runs and Brandon Hamilton had 4 RBI’s to lead the Pirate offense.  Nick Pressley allowed 8 runs in 3 innings to head the pitching troubles of PJC.  Trouble on defense plagued the Pirates all game as well.  Zac Cronic had 3 of the 4 errors for PJC.  All the errors lead to runs for Gulf Coast.

“If we pitched better and played better defense, this is an easy win for us,” Coach Bill Hamilton said.  “I’m really proud of our guys playing hard with all the injuries we have suffered.  It’s easy for a team to give up on the season when a lot of your guys are out, but they didn’t give up today and showed heart.”

PJC’s next game is Tuesday April 4 at home versus Chipola.
