With the cost of designer clothing and fashion trends rising, it has become quite the struggle for a “starving college student” to keep up with today’s latest styles. Nevertheless, there are still many ways to stay “in style” on a low budget.ÿ
Though it may not seem apparent, there is fashionable clothing at low prices sold at many stores in Pensacola.ÿ Stores such as Wet Seal and Charlotte Russe, located in Cordova Mall are up-to-date in all the latest fashion trends.ÿ
If you look in the right places, like the sale and clearance racks in the very back of these stores, you will be able to find many stylish clothes that are marked at very low and reasonable prices.ÿ
Another store with great savings on clothing, sometimes featuring sales with clothing reduced 50 to 75 percent is Dillard’s, a department store located in Cordova Mall.
Accessories can make or break an outfit.ÿ This can be very good for someone on a low budget because it is a lot easier to find accessories at low cost than it is to find clothing.ÿ Claire’s, a store with locations in both University and Cordova Mall, is widely known for their trendy accessories.ÿ
Claire’s sells many kinds of fun jewelry including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, and broaches as well as scarves and hair accessories. These things can be found at this store quoted at very low prices and also with sales like “buy two get one free.”
“Sometimes it’s not really what you wear, but how you wear it,” Ashley Miller, 19, said.ÿ Accessorizing an outfit you already own can make it look totally new.ÿ
“I add accessories to all of my outfits.ÿ Whether it being wearing earrings or a broche on my shirt, it always makes a world of difference in the way my outfit looks,” Carmelita Harbeson, 19, added.
Accessorizing with scarves is another great way to improve your outfit, whether it be wearing it as a belt, in your hair, or around your neck, scarves are a great fashion tool.
It doesn’t always cost money to look great.ÿ “I add a smile to everything I wear and that has worked great for me,” David White, 20, said.
Remember the most helpful pointer in shopping on a low budget is to keep an eye out for clearance racks and sale signs.ÿ Just because the prices are marked down doesn’t mean the clothes aren’t just as nice.ÿ Also, remember sometimes great outfits can be put together combining clothes you already own with interesting new accessories. Okay, now is the time to put your low budget fashion knowledge to the test.ÿ Get out there, whether it’s to the mall or to your very own bedroom, and let’s see what you can put together.
