PJC’s baseball team opened at home on Thursday night against Northwest Shoals winning 8-5.
Zac Cronic went 2-3 with an RBI and Brandon Hamilton went 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Ryan Bergh went 7 innings giving up 3 runs and striking out one.
It was 8-3 PJC entering the ninth inning. The Patriots scored 2 runs off of relief pitcher Austin Garrett, making it 8-5. Garrett was able to get a double play leaving only 1 out for a victory. Jonathan Sintes came in and got the final out giving PJC a win in its first game at home.
PJC is off to a hot start. With this win their record improves to 8-3 on the season. They play the Patriots again on Friday Feb. 17th at 2pm at PJC Pensacola Campus.
