PJC was defeated by Santa Fe Community College Saturday night by a score of 86-61. Santa Fe came out strong early with a 17-2 run that was ultimately the difference in the game. PJC was able to hang within 15 points through most of the game but were out played by the speed and size of Santa Fe.
Sophomore Steffi Sorenson and Freshman Chelsea McMillan each had 23 points for Santa Fe. McMillian was named to the all-tournament team and Sorenson was named the MVP of the tournament.
Freshman Sierra Highgate led PJC with 16 points and freshman Nikel White had a double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both players were selected to the all-tournament team.
PJC will play LSU-Eunice Tuesday at home. Tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
