Members of the PJC baseball team recently donated blood at the Northwest Florida Blood Center, Each year, the team plays a best-of-seven intersquad “World Series” game to determine who donates blood.
“The blood center considers us pretty good advocates of the drive,” Hamilton said.
The losing team is required to donate one unit of blood per man. If a player cannot donate blood for any reason, he is responsible for finding a replacement.
The “losers” this year are members of Team Stevens.
This is the tenth year the team has donated blood during the holiday season.
“We do it at this time of year, because I think the blood need is probably the greatest at the holidays with people traveling,” Coach Bill Hamilton said.
