The PJC Pirates, now 5-4, took a big blow from Faulkner State in last night’s game in Bay Minette, Ala. with a final score of 91-79.The Pirates’ Men’s Head Coach Paul Swanson said the players were only down one point at halftime, but that in the last half they didn’t execute their offense and couldn’t block out the opponent’s defense which allowed for the team to have second shots.
“[Faulkner State] was really hyped up,” said Swanson. “This was a good experience for our guys to see how the campus supported their team there with a huge crowd, special effects, and a band.”
Swanson reported one player on the Faulkner State team had a double-double stat of 37 points and 17 rebounds. PJC’s leading scorer in this game was 6-foot-2 guard Tyrone Evans with 29 points.
Swanson says the Pirates have two really tough games ahead of them this weekend at the Panhandle Shootout in Marianna.
