The PJC men’s basketball team was able to bounce back after Saturday’s 85-70 loss to Central Florida Community College with a 70-68 victory over St. Petersburg College on Sunday at the Florida Shootout.
PJC head coach Paul Swanson said that it was a good win coming off a tough loss, considering his team had less than 24 hours to prepare for the game.
PJC controlled most of the game and had several chances to pull away but instead let St. Petersburg back in it at the end.
Forward Petras Balocka had an outstanding follow-up game to Saturday’s contest with Central Florida, scoring 20 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Forward Miles Taylor was the only other Pirate to score in double figures as he recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds.
PJC will return home to play in the Collegiate Sports Shootout on Dec. 30 and 31.
