PJC matched up against Columbia State in men’s basketball on Thanksgiving Day, losing 84-68. Yarrish Hammons led the Pirates in scoring with 20 points. Durrell Baker also chipped in with 14 points, but it was not enough to get past Columbia State.
“We played solid early but their zone defense at the end of the first half hurt us offensively,” Coach Paul Swanson said after the game. “In the second half, their transition and penetration to the basket hurt us and we didn’t make our free throws.”
PJC falls to 4-3 on the season and will play again at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 against Shorter College at Lou Ross Center.
