The PJC men’s basketball team took on Tallahassee College on Wednesday night at the Lou Ross Center, losing 94-75.
Yarrish “Ya Ya” Hammons led the Pirates with 19 points and Clinton Kilbert added 11 points but could not lead the Pirates to victory
The first half was close with both teams making mistakes and big plays. Tallahassee led 41-37 at halftime. In the second half though it appeared that PJC came out flat and was never able to recover.
“In the second half with about 10 minutes to go we just ran out of energy. We have a lot of young guys that are not familiar with the tough conference play and they ran out of energy. We have to learn to play two halves every game,” Coach Paul Swanson said after the game.
The loss drops PJC’s conference record to 1-6 and their season record to 10-13. Their next game is on February 4th on the road against Okaloosa Walton College.
