After years of not being invited to the party, deaf teens take matters into their own hands.

In East London, deaf DJs have begun to set up their own parties, or raves. Raves, in the UK, mean a loud DJ party of any kind.

“If a blind man can play the piano-like Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles-then why can’t a deaf MC rap?” said MC Geezer, Britain’s first deaf rapper in an interview with Dominic Tunion of viceland.com.

It may sound strange to some people, but it works. In order for deaf people to get up and dance, the music has to be extremely loud, loud enough for them to feel vibrations from the music.

The scene is very new, but already exploding. It won’t be long before it comes to America.
