Got a sweet tooth? Or issue on-campus? Warrington Campus students, the SGA is at your service.
Sweet Thursdays is a weekly event on Warrington Campus held by the SGA in Building 3600 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tight budget? No problem, a different treat is featured each week at no cost. So far the SGA has offered snow cones and popcorn, with snow cones being a huge hit during May’s increasingly warmer temperatures.
“The goal of Sweet Thursdays is to provide a positive environment and give students an opportunity for their voices to be heard,” Joshua Smith, Warrington SGA President, said.
The SGA not only provides mouth-watering goodies, but they have used student concerns and suggestions to initiate positive changes on campus. They also offer students assistance in the parking ticket appeals process.
Edith Finley, coordinator for Student Leadership and Activities for Warrington Campus, said the SGA is, “the student’s voice for the campus.”
Recently the Warrington Campus SGA has been involved in upgrading outside furniture for students to lounge and enjoy an in-between class snack. Another concern was motorcycles tipping over due to resurfaced asphalt parking spots becoming too soft during hot hours of the day.
Cotton candy is the featured treat planned for the June 7 Sweet Thursdays. Also, there are many other ways to let your voice be heard: a suggestion box is located outside the Warrington Campus Library located in building 3600, and the Warrington SGA meets on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. in the Student Center also located in building 3600. If you are interested you can meet the Warrington SGA here.
