Any of their amazing songs are a must, but especially “You’re All I Need to Get By”, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing.”
Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel
These guys were prolific both together and as solo artists. Some of their hits include “Mrs. Robinson” (as used in The Graduate starring Dustin Hoffman), “The Sound of Silence” and “Homeward Bound.”
Lionel Richie & Diana Ross
“Endless Love” is a classic love ballad that’s so magical that almost everyone has tried to rekindle the spark between Richie and Ross. Artist such as Beverley Knight, Shania Twain, Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross are some of the artist that have paid homage to the hit.
Kenny Rogers & Dottie West
Every time these two collide, they make beautiful music together. In 1978, they released “Every Time Two Fools Collide,” which was their first duet album together. A personal favorite from this album is “Anyone Who Isn’t Me Tonight.” This album turned out some good hits and stayed at the top of the Country Music Charts for two weeks. These artist are of course successful in their own right. Kenny Rogers gave us a lesson in life with his 1978 hit “The Gambler,” while Dottie West threatened to give players a “Lesson in Leavin” in 1980. Both singers have a series of other hit songs, as well as an album of classics.
Barbra Streisand & Barry Gibb
These two legends certainly have nothing to be sorry for with their 1980 Grammy Award winning hit “Guilty.” Loving this song has got to be illegal.
Otis Redding & Carla Thomas
These hits are so good and so powerful that you’d swear they were in a relationship. (Spoiler Alert! They were not.) Some of the hits include “Tramp,” “Knock on Wood” and “New Year’s Resolution,” and because I love them so much: “Tell it Like It Is,” “Lovey Dovey” and “It Takes Two.”
Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood
“Summer Wine,” “Some Velvet Morning” and “Sundown Sundown.”
Sonny & Cher
This popular duo had several good hits and a variety show. Before Sonny entered the world of politics and Cher began her outstanding solo career, these two excited audiences with hits like “I Got You Babe” and “The Beat Goes On.”
The Everly Brothers
These brothers kept teenagers rocking all day and night with hits like “Wake Up Little Susie,” “Goodbye Love,” “All I Have To Do Is Dream” and more!
Teena Marie & Rick James
Their song “Fire and Desire” has a bit of an intro, but make no mistake, once it gets going it will take you away. These two soulful singers take their time showing off their talents in this classic. Their chemistry makes this song so hot and yet so very cool at the same time.
Natalie & Nat King Cole
In 1951, Nat King Cole recorded this beautiful song, and then in 1991, 26 years after his death, his daughter Natalie re-recorded the song for her album “With Love”,” Unforgettable” was a father daughter duet that lived up to it’s name.
Captain & Tennille
This duo may no longer be in “Muskrat Love,” but their love songs will always be a standard. Some of their hits include “Love Will Keep Us Together,” “The Way That I Want To Touch You” and “Do That To Me One More Time.”
*Interesting Fact: Both Terrell and Redding died shortly after the success of their respective recordings.
