‘KING LEAR’
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Pensacola State College Lyceum Series presents “King Lear” Feb. 25-27 and March 4-6 at the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus.
The production runs 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Shakespeare’s dark tragedy “King Lear” begins with the fictional King of England, King Lear, handing over his kingdom to daughters Regan and Goneril, whom he believes truly love him. King Lear intends to stay with each daughter consecutively, accompanied by 100 loyal knights. Angry that Cordelia, his youngest daughter, does not appear to love him as do Goneril and Regan, Lear banishes Cordelia and Kent, the servant who attempts to defend her. Then the twists and turns really begin!
Tickets are $10, reserved admission; $8, seniors, children, non-Pensacola State College students; $6, Senior Club members, Pensacola State College staff/faculty/retirees; free, Pensacola State College students.
