WSRE’s Studio Amped returns for its fifth season of the free live songwriters’ concert series on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. The concerts will be held at the Jean and Paul Amos Performance Studio. Doors open at 6 p.m. nightly and the concerts start at 7 p.m.
The eight-night event kicks off with a performance from “Boukou Groove”, followed on Tuesday, Feb. 19 with “Your Captain Speaking”, Gretsch Lyles on Wednesday, Feb. 20 and concluding the first week with “Hotel Oscar” on Thursday, Feb. 21.
The second week starts on Monday, Feb. 25with “Honeycun”, followed by “Sugarcane Jane” on Tuesday, Feb. 26. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, “The Helvetica Effect” will perform and closing the series will be “Season Ammons Band” on Thursday, Feb. 28.
The concerts are recorded in high-definition and beginning April 4, 2013, WSRE will air each concert on Thursdays from 9-10 p.m. with a repeat on the following Wednesdays from 10-11 p.m.
