Students on the Warrington campus will have an opportunity to “dunk a cop,” 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sept. 23, in the parking lot of building 3300.
“[The Student Government Association] is going to help support the Bucks for Books Scholarship that’s to aid students who can’t pay for books,” explained Wallace Carter, Warrington SGA president.
Cost will be $2 for three balls and $5 to just push the button yourself — a quick way to get the job done.
Officer Kim Cooper will be participating in the event. Carter said Cooper “has graciously volunteered.”
When asked about the fundraiser, Cooper, who is well known among students and faculty, said when it comes to volunteering, “As long as it goes to a good cause, I’d volunteer.”
Cooper also said the police on campus have a positive attitude when it comes to helping others.
Carter mentioned that Dr. Williams, campus provost, has also volunteered to be dunked, and Carter may bring his own swim shorts to make sure the dunkers get breaks.
The SGA is hoping for a good turn out, and if ever there was a time to help a cause and get back for a parking ticket, Sept. 23 is the day to do it!
