Champ: The New England Patriots.  This is their second Super Bowl appearance in three years.  Like’em or hate’em, they have a solid franchise.

Champ: The Carolina Panthers.  Where did they come from?  Who thought they were going to make the Super Bowl?

Champ: Carmello Anthony.  The young NBA star has been showing a great deal of maturity.  That’s a nice refreshing change from Kobe news.

Champ: Air Force.  Their college basketball program is doing a nice job this season.  An annual laughing stock is making good in the MWC.

Champ: Loyola College.  Their basketball team snapped a 31-game losing streak.  Congratulations to the Greyhounds.  Now lets see if they can win two in a row.

Chump: The Philadelphia Eagles.  This is a team overloaded with an abundance of talent, but yet again they could not find a way to the big game.

Chump: The Florida Marlins.  They are not going to sign Pudge Rodriguez.  It looks like Detroit will get him.  It’s pathetic that they would not try to re-sign the heart and  soul of their championship team.

Chump: NBA fans.  It is pitiful that they voted Kobe Bryant as an All-Star Game starter.  That’s all that needs to be said.

Chump: The Utah Utes.  Their college hoops coach, Rick Majerus, has been on the brink for a while.  They should have seen this coming and replaced him already.

Chump: The Utah Jazz.  There was a prank phone call made by the Jazz at a Laker game making fun of Karl Malone’s and Kobe Bryant’s legal woes.  That was tasteless and poorly planned.
