Student Government Association

SGA serves hot and delicious food at a Ronald McDonald House volunteer activity.

By Haley M. Schipper

Student Government is a group of students who help plan and organize activities and events for the student body. SGA is your voice to the administration. They are responsible for not only planning fun events for all students to enjoy but also addressing any major issues the student body faces.

SGA consists of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Public Relations Director, Student Initiates Director, and 10 Senator positions spread across two committees: the Activities and Volunteer committees.

“This year, Student Government has picked up their game and are doing many more events. From the movie nights, to tailgates, volunteering, and breast cancer walk. We have a blast planning them and would always love to get more ideas!” SGA President Haley Schipper said.

Being a part of SGA also includes a chance to attend district and statewide conferences. Attendees of these conferences meet other students from 28 State Colleges in Florida, altogether representing over 800,000 Student Government members.

SGA is also an excellent resource for all clubs, organizations, students, faculty, and staff. SGA is happy to partner and help others with their events.

Meetings rotate among the Pensacola Campus, Milton Campus, and Warrington Campus. This gives students a chance to make sure their voice is heard and their ideas are presented. All SGA meetings are open to students and faculty. Join today and see what the club is all about!
