Tonight Dr. Wayne Wooten will host a star-gazing session at the Warrington Campus, focusing on the Cassini mission to Saturn and including a presentation on the same. Wooten says he expects upwards of 200 attendees.

(Feb 7) Update:

Becaues of the weather on the 3rd, said Wooten, “we did not get a chance to show the fifty or so parents and students Saturn and the Moon through the telescopes.”

However, Wooten added, “Bill Cristea did bring his Meade 10” and impress all with how much detail the poster at the end of the hall showed at 200X.

“Escambia Amateur Astronomer’s V-P Dewey Barker and I did presentations on Saturn, Cassini, and the Huygens lander, as well as the club’s activities… [t]he localaeronautics society also did a presentation on flying.”

Wooten said that he hopes to have another event “on a clear evening” sometime in March or April, “when Jupiter will join the show.”
