One of the country’s foremost woodwind artists, Chris Vadala, performs with the PJC Wind and Jazz Ensembles during their Winter Concert.
The concert is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus. The concert is free, but due to limited seating, tickets are required.
Vadala’s performing career has been highlighted by a long tenure as a standout woodwind artist with the internationally recognized Chuck Mangione Quartet.
His performing credits include five gold and two platinum albums; two Grammy Awards; an Emmy Award; a Golden Globe Award and an American Guild of Variety Artists Award.
A native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Vadala graduated summa cum laude from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y., earning the prestigious Performer’s Certificate on saxophone as well as a bachelor’s in music education. He received a master’s in clarinet from Connecticut College in New London and pursued post-graduate studies in woodwinds at Eastman.
