If you’re looking for a job, the Career Fair may be your best bet. This Friday, September 26, PSC is co-hosting the 6th Annual Fall Community Career Fair with Career Source Escarosa.

The fair will be located in the AMOS studio in the WSRE building next to the PSC library, and it will run from 9:00 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon. There will be tables set up with employers looking for prospective employees. There will be 70 tables set up. A map will be provided which will help you find the business or company you’re looking for.

The Career Fair is a great opportunity for a first impression on potential employers. Sherry Duffy, Student Job Services Coordinator, says you should dress to impress. Think interview attire.

A list of the employers that will be there is included below. There is a job for everyone. Duffy recommends that you research which company you want to work for beforehand and know which specific jobs within the company or business you would like to fill. Also, make sure to put your best foot forward. Potential employers will only give you about 30 seconds to make a positive impression on them. Listing the qualities you have that make you the right person for the job will help employers see you as a potential employee. It is also a good idea to bring several copies of your resume to hand out.

If your résumé isn’t up to par, you can always visit Student Job Services. Their job is to help you land a job. They can help you create a topnotch resume, and they even do mock interviews. Perhaps the best part is that for all students and Alumni seeking a job, their services are free.

Sherry Duffy states that the Job Fair offers a great opportunity to acclimate yourself into the workforce. Transitioning from a college campus to the workforce can be tough, and this may be just the bridge you are looking for.
