The PJC women’s basketball team dominated Delgado Community College Monday, 104-39.
The Lady Pirates jumped to an early lead, which they held for the entire game. They were 29 points up before the Lady Dolphins could make their first point. PJC ended the first half 50-10.
The second half started and ended much the same for the Lady Pirates. They maintained a 60 point lead and hit the 100-point mark with 3 minutes left in the game.
Victoria Hunt led the scoring in the high point game. Gercia Johnson contributed two 3-point shots while Lauren Burgess had one 3-point shot with a lay-up that quickly followed.
“They played well,” said Head Coach Chanda Rigby. “We got to play everybody. There were players that I haven’t seen play much because they’ve been on the bench and they really did well.”
