The PJC Lady Pirate basketball team played Okaloosa-Walton College in the third conference game of the season losing 84-73 at the Lou Ross Center Wednesday.

Ida Edwards lead the Lady Pirates with 16 points and 9 rebounds, and Shontel Johnson had13 points and 6 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to power past the Raiders.

“They[OWC] made adjustments at halftime.  Our zone defense was very effective in the first half but it wore thin in the second half, forcing us to change our defense,” Coach Chanda Rigby said. “They really hurt us in transition but we wanted to defend their bigger players in the post and I think we did a good job of that tonight.”

The loss drops the Lady Pirates to 0-3 in the conference and 12-6 on the season.  Their next game is on Saturday January 21st on the road against Gulf Coast CC.
