Barktoberfest 2015, presented by the Pensacola Humane Society, was an unqualified success.  Thousands of dogs and their owners congregated to Seville Square on October 24th to socialize, play games, shop for treats and support the the Pensacola Humane Society, a local animal shelter.

Despite an approaching storm, the weather cooperated and provided a nice fall day for the festivities.

A multitude of contests were held throughout the day including Best Costume, Best Trick, and Best Owner and Pet Look-Alike. There were also several activities, such as flyball demonstrations, agility demonstrations and dachshund races.

Local vendors of food and treats for both two and four legged patrons were available throughout the day.

A number of the Humane Society’s furry friends were available for adoption onsite.  Members of the Humane society were on hand to answer questions about the organization’s mission, as well as impart the importance of spaying and neutering pets and proper pet care.

All donations collected were used to support the no-kill shelter run by the Humane society.
