The Math Labs on PJC’s three campuses, Pensacola, Milton and Warrington, offer a valuable resource to students: the resource of knowledge.
The Math Labs see roughly 50 to 100 students per day, according to Clarence Manns, Math Lab Supervisor for Pensacola campus.
“We offer pretty much just any math help, from college algebra to calculus. There have even been some chemistry students,” said Hannah Buchanan, one of the Milton campus tutors present almost every day of the week.
The average user time varies depending on the student’s needs.
“It depends on the severity of the subject,” said Cole Simmons, an 18-year-old freshman at Pensacola campus.
The labs offer one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring, and practice tests to help students. “It’s a valuable resource to students,” Manns said.
Many students say it is beneficial to their classes and grades. “I love it. It’s great and very helpful. I used it all summer,” Debbie Orr said.
“The hard part is just trying to get [students] to come,” Buchanan said. “But once they do we have lots of returned customers.”
Jannie Rudolph has been using the math tutoring lab for quite some time, and said it helps her out a lot. “Anybody that’s struggling needs to come here.”
The math tutoring labs are ready and willing to help those students who need a little extra help. The labs are open Monday through Friday, at varying times, and also through appointment.
