Wednesday, Jan. 30, was a losing night for the Pensacola State College men’s basketball team.
They fell hard, 99-64, to the leaders of their conference, Northwest Florida State College.
The game was coarse from the beginning even though PSC scored the first six points. It wasn’t long before NWFSC responded and made their way up the scoreboard.
“You have to wait and be patient before you can finish it out,” PSC Coach Pete Pena beamed from the sidelines making his team work harder to catch the Raiders’ lead.
After the first half, the Pirates were down by almost half of their opponents’ score, 49-26.
The second half proved to be no better because PSC didn’t have enough to pull out a win.
PSC’s Qiydor Davis and Isaiah Cotton fouled out before the end of the game which left enough room for the Raiders to come out on top.
The Pirates endured a 35 point loss, handing the Raiders another win towards the conference title.
PSC will compete again 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at home against Chipola College.
