Men’s basketball game, Saturday, Feb. 16

PJC 75, Gulf Coast 53

After nine straight losses in the Panhandle Conference, PJC finally got their first win of the season via on the road at Gulf Coast Community College

“We finally got over the hump,” said PJC head coach Paul Swanson. “I’m proud of our kids.”

The Pirates controlled the game throughout. They led by 21 at halftime and never let up in the second half.

Petras Balocka led PJC with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jalin Thomas had 14 points, Jerome Burgos had 13 points, and Lasha Parghalava had 11 points.

Swanson is hoping that this game will give his team the confidence and momentum they need as they get ready for their last home game against No. 3 ranked Chipola.
