As journalists, it is our duty to report fair and balanced news to you, our faithful readers.

Now while some of you may consider, “Fair and Balanced Journalism,” to be a contradiction in terms, that is indeed the mission of journalists everywhere.

Or, at least, it should be.

The Corsair staff prides itself on our unbiased take on stories in everything ranging from school policy to the current political agenda in America and around the world.

Sometimes, however, it’s not so easy to find voices to represent every side of an issue. While some may say that the Corsair is slanted toward a certain political viewpoint, that has never intentionally been the case.

A lot of old favorites will be returning this semester, alongside some new faces who are more than qualified to offer varied opinions on a myriad of topics.

Readers turning to the opinion section of the Corsair will see a marketplace of ideas and can be assured of seeing at least some of their viewpoints represented in the paper.

[Well, almost.

Because everyone possesses a different viewpoint, it might not always be possible to represent each one.]

With that said, the Corsair staff encourages you to write Letters to the Editor so that we can hear your voice in our paper.

Your voice can also appear in the eCorsair online. Letters to the Editor can be submitted online, or you can start your own thread on a topic in the online forum.

Whatever the case, our mission as a student newspaper is to represent student opinion.
