Pensacola State College was awarded $23,365 in scholarship grants from three groups Wednesday, Sept. 5.

One of the groups, Florida Blue, presented the college with a check for $10,600 to fund student scholarships in the areas of Nursing and Allied Health.

The Dream Maker Scholarship, established by Bank of America, awarded $3,887 to first-generation students to cover tuition, books, fees and child care.

The Helios Education Foundation, the third group, contributed $8,878, which will be awarded to first-generation students who are preparing to become teachers in Florida.
In 2011-2012, 63 PSC students received scholarships through the three scholarship programs. All three scholarships are endowments established through the Florida College System Foundation.
