PJC’s baseball team, trying to avoid a sweep, pushed Chipola to extra innings but ultimately fell short losing 7-6 in 12 innings.  Chipola swept the three game weekend series with the win.

Jared Grace had 2 hits and 3 RBI and Nick Francis added 2 hits.  Jimbo Bunch went 9 innings giving up 6 runs, 8 hits and striking out 4 but didn’t factor in the decision.  Ryan Bergh took the loss giving up the game-winning run.

“They stole it,” Coach Bill Hamilton said.  “If our center fielder had been in the right position, we win this game.”

Late in the game Greg Kealy came out limping of the batter’s box.  He rolled his ankle but Hamilton says he should be ok.

“Kealy should be ok.  We iced it so nothing long term would happen.  He should be ok for the next game,” Hamilton said.

PJC’s next game is a weekend series against Gulf Coast.  Home games are Friday March 31 and April 2.  April 1 the teams play in Panama City
