Running Wild has announced its summer training program targeting anyone interested in leading a healthier lifestyle and getting into shape.
“My First 5K” is a 12-week training program designed specifically for beginning runners, providing participants the opportunity to train one-on-one with running experts. There will be weekly coached training sessions starting every Monday and Wednesday on April 20 through July 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m..
Saturday clinics on running-related topics to help runners reach their personal fitness goals will also be held.
Participants will end their training and test their new skills with the Firecracker 5K in Pensacola on July 4th, where “My First 5K” participants will run as a team in the local race. Race entry fee is included with “My First 5K” registration.
The weekend clinics will cover topics such as nutrition, stretching, injury prevention and running techniques.
Registration is $109 and covers 12 weeks of training, clinics, water bottle, fitness goal assessment and a technical t-shirt, as well as race entry.
