State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that Jaworski Lee Simmons was convicted on September 17, 2010 by an Escambia County Jury of Sexual Battery, Threats of Force Likely to Cause Serious Personal Injury, and False Imprisonment.

On April 22, 2009, Simmons followed the victim into the restroom on then Pensacola Junior College Campus, crawled under the bathroom stall, choked and sexually battered her. During the two hours prior to the sexual battery, Simmons had approached several other women on campus.

Judge Terry Terrefl sentenced him as a sexual predator to 20 years state prison followed by 10 years probation.

The investigation and arrest were coordinated between the Pensacola Junior College Campus Police and Pensacola Police Department. Assistant State Attorney Diane Stefani prosecuted the case.
