The PJC volleyball team lost a devastating match against Hillsborough Community College in Game 1 of the state tournament Thursday, Nov. 2.
The first game started out promising, but the Lady Pirates quickly fell behind the Lady Hawks. The next two games followed the same pattern.
“It’s been rare,” said Head Coach Pete Pena, about the loss, “but I am certainly disappointed in the way we played. They played sluggish and tentative and that surprised me.”
The Lady Pirates lost all three games; 30-21, 30-19 and 30-17.
