The Learning Resources Center  will present its second annual Writers’ Workshops and Meet the Author on Sat., May 1.

The workshops will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Student Center on the Pensacola campus.

The day’s workshops are 45 minute sessions beginning at 9 a.m. and running consecutively until 1 p.m.

Randy Compton is the self-published author of “Country Fried Man” and his writing has often been compared to Lewis Grizzard’s and Jeff Foxworthy’s. 

Cas Dunlap is a retired federal judge and the author of several books including “Southern Lights”, “Beach Breezes,” and “Celestial Blues” which are set on Pensacola Beach.  Art Giberson is an award winning photojournalist, the author of six books and the past managing editor of the Gosport.  His book “Eyes of the Fleet” was commissioned by the National Association of Naval Photography. Moonean Farley is the owner of Farley’s Old and Rare Books.

PJC and local authors will also be honored at the event. 

There will also be a “Starving Authors’ Book Sale.”

The event will conclude with a special appearance by nationally-known author Joe Weber.  Tom Clancy heralded Joe Weber as “one of America’s new thriller stars.”

Publishers Weekly called him “…a master of the genre.”  

Mr. Weber’s newest novel “Assured Response” will be available for purchase.

The event is free and open to the public.
