Shauna Cook-The Corsair Jan.14 was a huge success for Pensacola State Mens Basketball winning the game against the #1 ranked team Northwest Florida in overtime 75-68. For the Pirates, Northwest Florida was the team to beat, and the Pirates did exactly that. Pirates were down by 2 at the end of the first half coming back in to the second half in full game mode. It was back and forth between the Pirates and the Raiders leaving it tied 61-61 at the end of the second half, causing a very pressured overtime game. The Pirates had three double digit scorers for the game; David Alexander had 23 points, Darren Goodson had 19 points and Jeff Mullahey had 13 points. David Alexander fouled out in overtime, but not before he could contribute to his team. What an amazing game for the Pirates, Way to go!!!
