The PJC men’s basketball team closed out their home season with a tough loss 85-72 to Okaloosa-Walton College on Monday.

Phil Wallace had 18 points and Clinton Kilbert added 15 points in their final home games as Pirates.  Tyler Cannon added 14 points for the Pirates.

OWC guard Odarion Bassett had 41 points for the Raiders, leading them out to an early lead 11-0 to start the game.  PJC just couldn’t seem to find him on the court to defend him and Bassett made them pay.

“Bassett played great tonight.  He is an SEC caliber guard,” Coach Paul Swanson said.  “We played well making an 18-1 run to get back into the game.  In the second half we went to the smaller line-up to create mismatches.  But Bassett hurt us.  Without him we win this game over OWC.”

PJC’s season closer is Feb. 22nd on the road against Gulf Coast.
