On April 19th, the softball team received a championship win in the Panhandle Conference against Chipola College.
Assistant softball coach Caroline Powell said about the matchup, “The team fought very hard to secure the Championship. We faced a lot of adversity as we played the final 11 conference games without two of our starting pitchers.”
Freshmen pitchers Heleena Reinhardt, (#3) and Avery Beauchaine (#6) stepped up to the plate with the offense and defense players. and PSC closed out the season with a 9-2 score.
Powell wanted to give the team a congratulations on their victory. “I’m very proud of this team’s grit, they embraced the fight and are a fun bunch to coach.”
The PSC softball team ended the season being Co-Champions alongside Chipola College, however, during the FCSAA state tournament PSC will go to as the #1 Panhandle seed because PSC and Chipola held the tiebreaker with Chipola 3-2.
