The student center has relocated to Bldg. 6, room 610, until further notice. The new location is due to the Adult High school being moved into Bldg. 5.

“This leaves us with no room to have meetings or plan special events,” said Angie Jones, assistant coordinator. The move has left her and her staff with less room and resources.

The two clubs that met there twice a week have to relocate and Jones has to find a new place to hold the social that she was planning for new students in August.

With her staff also being down-sized from five full time employees to two full times and one part time, Jones finds herself in a stressful situation.

The old student center was equipped with computers, Wi-Fi, and flat screen televisions that allowed students to relax between classes.  With the Adult High having to hold classes in the old student center Jones is now left with two computers and one television.

If grabbing a bite to eat between classes was not hard enough, it is now. There is now no place on campus to eat or even get a drink, unless you count the vending machines.

Building construction is also in order for the new adult high building, and new classrooms are being added.

“We will be trying to do planning like we have always done,” Jones said after talking about her plans for the new year. All students can agree that this change has been difficult for everyone, but Jones and her staff are working harder than ever to make sure this year is bigger and better than the previous year.
