PSC Celebrates Third Year of Revived Homecoming Tradition

In between the Women’s and Men’s Basketball games on the 12th, the school celebrated the inauguration of this year’s Homecoming Court. The ceremony was the culmination of three days of events to celebrate Pensacola State College, its students, and faculty. Among these activities were cookouts, meet and greets, and a scavenger hunt. The celebration was a fun diversion from the rigors of academic life.

Forks and Frames: A Pensacola Native’s First Gallery Night

In 1991, Executive Director of the Arts Council, Andy Witt, met with a few local business owners to discuss holding an event in downtown Pensacola dedicated to spreading culture and art awareness. This is where the nonprofit organization, known as Gallery Night, was born. Every third Friday from five to nine p.m., Palafox Street is transformed into an exhibition for local artists to showcase their work. This month, the city of Pensacola held what was dubbed, “Forks and Frames, a Foodie Gallery Night,” and I decided to attend the event.

Graphic Design Students Improve the Library’s Walls with their Projects Mike

Joseph Bradford’s Graphic Design II class was given the task of redesigning the covers of a book. The project was simple; choose a book you have read or had personal experience with, then redesign the cover to something of their liking. In all 13 posters created, each student chose a fictional book. Now, their completed projects decorate the walls of the library.

Dartin’ Good Times by Elizabeth Quarles Mike

Wednesday nights in Pensacola are all fun and games. These nights, teams get together in different bars throughout Pensacola to laugh, joke, drink, and throw darts. Currently there are about 10 teams in the dart league, and they all play out of different bars in the area all throughout Pensacola. The Ticket 2 location is currently the “home” bar for the team named FTK, and they are as unique a group as their name.
