‘We shoot kids, don’t we?’: thoughts on “The Voice of Hind Rajab”

On February 6th, 2026, I watched the killing of a real child in an art cinema. Everyone walked out of the theatre, unable to communicate the atrocity beamed into them. Reactions were split depending on knowing the child’s story, leaving either in shock because of the end or, in the case of one person, crying for the entire last half of the film. We all saw a massacre, and we didn’t do anything to stop it.

Let’s try something new. Given the large swath of films that come out every month, and such limited space to write per paper, I have decided to experiment with a collection of movies worthy of conversation, but not something I could expand for the full 1,000-word look-over

Iron Lung: The Clot Thickens

In March 2022, indie developer David Szymanski released ​​Iron Lung, a short horror game originally released on Steam. It has a simple premise with more complex lore behind it: you have been welded into a small submarine, with which you are exploring the trenches of an ocean of blood. Just two short months after release, the game was picked up for a video by popular gaming YouTuber, Markiplier.
