The PJC baseball team continued its winning ways and improving their conference record, sweeping North Florida in their three games this weekend.
The sweep gave PJC their first three conference wins of the season and the Pirates ended the weekend with a strong statement.
In the 11-1, 5-inning win in the third game PJC took the early lead and never looked back. Brett Bowen and Nick Francis each had two hits and three RBI’s powering the offense. Jimbo Bunch (5-3) allowed four hits and only one run earning the win.
The Pirates had only one extra base hit the entire game, a double by Bowen. They broke open the game with four runs in the second inning.
The sweep improves PJC’s season record to 23-10 and their conference record to 3-3. PJC plays next against Chipola at home on Fri. March 24.
