The Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts on the Pensacola campus is always displaying new art in their galleries, whether from students, faculty, or visiting artists. The newest exhibition, No Sleep Till Branded, represents art showcasing a collective of eight PSC student portfolios. These works were all gathered from the Senior Studio Graphic Design course this year, and they create a brilliant gallery with work complimented by photographical and fine art accents. This exhibition will be up in the Active Project Space from October 14 to December 6, with the presentations and reception taking place October 29, 5-7:30 pm.
The next gallery exhibition showcases art from Rachel Livedalen as a part of “Eclectic Fidelities”, a showcase celebrating women in the arts, which is up now in the Lamar Studio until December 13. Livedalen is an Associate Professor of Printmaking at Texas Christian University, and while printmaking is her passion, several different mediums of her art are displayed in this exhibition exploring femininity. The presentation and reception will be on November 5, from 5 to 7:30pm. Livedalen will also be presenting two experimental mixed media monoprint workshops on November 6th and 7th from 5 to 6 pm in classroom 1520 on campus. On top of this, if you are visiting the Foo Foo Festival in downtown Pensacola this year, you may just run across her art which will be displayed from October 31 to November 11. If any of these exhibitions interest you, be sure to check out and support the Anna Lamar Switzer Center.
