The PJC men’s basketball team lost a heartbreaking thriller against Okaloosa-Walton College falling 87-85 at the Lou Ross Center on Wednesday.

Phil Wallace led the Pirates with 22 points and 10 rebounds.  Julian Allen had 19 points and Tyler Cannon added 15 points but the game came down to the final seconds.

Trailing by double digits with five minutes to go in the game, PJC made their run to pull within one with 30 seconds left.  After OWC hit free throws to make it 87-85 PJC made one last attempt but Cannon’s shot went begging, giving OWC the thrilling win.

“This game was all about pride.  Both teams were battling for a conference win and it was just a great game,” Coach Paul Swanson said after the game.

The loss drops PJC to 9-11 on the season and 0-3 in conference play.  The team travels to Panama City to take on Gulf Coast CC on Saturday.
